Michael Ealy as Cory Maxson

          Michael Ealy resembles Cory Mason in Fences very well. Michael has the look of a young black man who is trying to make something of himself. He is young and eccentric, much like Cory. Cory Maxson is Troy's youngest son who's dream is to become a football player but his father was always trying to talk him out of it and would never go to none of his games. He later leaves his home to join the Marines. Michael Ealy is young and handsome and would play the role of the very ambitious young man, Cory Maxson, beautifully. 

Terrence Howard as Lyons Maxson

     Terrence Howard is the ideal actor to play the role of Lyins Maxson, Troy's oldest son. Terrence has a michievious look in his eye which resembles an ideal ladies man. Lyons is a musician who loves jazz. He depends on his girlfriend, Bonnie, to put the food on the table. Lyons comes to his fathers house on every payday asking for money. Just like Terrence, Lyons' attitude shows that he will never give up on what he really wants and he doesnt care what noone thinks about what he does because he is his own person. I'm sure that Terrence Howard would not have any problem with playing this role and that is why I think he would be the perfect fit for this character.  

Chris Tucker as Jim Bono

        Modern day Chris Tucker would be the perfect person to play Fence's Jim Bono, Troy's best friend. Chris Tucker has a beautiful sense of humor and a great heart that can also be found in the character of Jim Bono. Bono values the friendship that he had with Troy. Bono is also concerned about Troy having an affair having the potential to ruin his marriage, and that is something that Bono does not want for his bestfriend of almost over 30 years. They are almost like brothers, Bono knows almost everything about Troy even when he's lying. Chris Tucker would do a great job playing this role.

"Young" Raven Symone as Raynell Maxson

          The young, Raven Symone, would be the perfect child to play the role of Raynell in Fences. the young Raven was full of energy and didnt see any faults in the world, much like Raynell. Raynell goes through her childhood with really knowing how her father really was. She was like an innocent little angel that didnt know what the world was really like yet. The innocence that the young Raven possessed is the perfect image for Raynell's character.

Cuba Gooding Jr. as Gabriel Maxson

Cuba Gooding Jr is a great African-American actor. His presecence on stage or on screen is incredible and I admire his work. He would be perfect to play the role of Gabriel, Troy's younger brother, because he has the ability to reflect a man that has served his country to his best ability. He can also add some humor into the situation. Cuba can play just about any role possible and he does a great job at all of the roles that he has already played. Gabriel reminds me of Cuba in the sense that he is a very wise man who knows a lot about the world and is aware of everything around him. He is someone that noone would mind having around because he has the ability of lighting up the room with his smile, his humor, and the passion and kindness that he shows.

Kimberly Elise as Rose Maxson

           Kimberly Elise is an amazing actress who has the ability to capture the heart of any audience. She is the best fit to the role of Rose Maxson in Fences. Her acting abilties are one of the best that there is. Elise can grab the attention needed in any motherly/ housewife role with her big brown eyes that show a sense of warmth and passion. Very much like Rose she and has a motherly yet a very outspoken personality and is also very authoritive just like her husband Troy. Rose is always home cooking and cleaning, she is the perfect example of a strong-willed wife that does what she can to keep her husband happy until enough is enough. And a mother who will always care for her children. When necessary she speaks her mind, whether it be to her husband or her children. She has a strong personality and won't let herself be taken advantage of especcially during the time when she finds out about Troy's affair. A perfect example was in Act II/ Scene I, when she tells him exactly how she feels and how shes been a great wife and a great mother to his kids and how she doesnt deserve for him to have done something so horrid to someone who loved him so much and devouted their life to their husband. This is why Kimberley Elise would be perfect to play this role.

Danny Glover as Troy Maxson

          Danny Glover would be the perfect all-time favorite actor to play the role of Troy Maxson in Fences. Glover has a very demanding presence when he is on stage which is very much like the character of Troy. He also has the ability of showing his strength and his authority to the audience very well. His image is also perfect for this role because it shows a big and powerful hardworking black man that has his life together and knows what it is to take care of a family and to be responsible, very much like Troy. Troy is a very strong black man who demands authority and is very hardworking. His main goal is to convince and show his children about the importance of hardwork to put food on the table and to make the right choices in life. In Act I/ Scene I, Troy's oldest son Lyons asks to borrow 10 dollars, but Troy tries to tell his son that he needs to work and the importance of working.  His intention mean well because he even offers to talk to some people that he knows so that his son can work, and this obviously wasn't the first time that he offered to help his son.

"I told you I know some people down there. I can get you on the rubbish if you want to work. I told you that the last time you came by here asking me for something."
