Kimberly Elise is an amazing actress who has the ability to capture the heart of any audience. She is the best fit to the role of Rose Maxson in Fences. Her acting abilties are one of the best that there is. Elise can grab the attention needed in any motherly/ housewife role with her big brown eyes that show a sense of warmth and passion. Very much like Rose she and has a motherly yet a very outspoken personality and is also very authoritive just like her husband Troy. Rose is always home cooking and cleaning, she is the perfect example of a strong-willed wife that does what she can to keep her husband happy until enough is enough. And a mother who will always care for her children. When necessary she speaks her mind, whether it be to her husband or her children. She has a strong personality and won't let herself be taken advantage of especcially during the time when she finds out about Troy's affair. A perfect example was in Act II/ Scene I, when she tells him exactly how she feels and how shes been a great wife and a great mother to his kids and how she doesnt deserve for him to have done something so horrid to someone who loved him so much and devouted their life to their husband. This is why Kimberley Elise would be perfect to play this role.
